Options for getting to and from the airport include shared and private shuttles, car rentals, taxis, Uber or a local bus. For car rental is best to make your arrangements in advance.
Public transport
Terminal 1 is the only place where you may take the Public Bus that takes you from Los Cabos Airport to San Jose Del Cabo Downtown, the Tourist Corridor and Cabo San Lucas. The operator for this service is called Ruta del Desierto and you’ll easily recognize the buses which are purple and yellow and tickets may be purchased at the Ecobajatours location within the arrivals area in Terminal 1. These buses run on a daily basis with the earliest departure from Santa Anita (South of Airport) at 4:30 am to 11:00 pm with a frequency of 8 to 10 minutes. If you are arriving to Terminal 2 you’ll have to make your way by means of walking with your luggage to Terminal 1 to catch the Bus at Los Cabos Airport. For those who are catching the bus from the Hotel and to the Los Cabos Airport, you will be dropped off at Terminal 1 first and then Terminal 2 (no need for walking). Plan your time accordingly, depending on your location and traffic.
Directions
The bus driver will take Highway 1 (carretera Transpeninsular wich comes all the way from Alaska to Baja South tip). Is about a 20 minute ride -depending on the time and traffic- Ask the operator to drop you at the Downtown bus stop, across from the baseball stadium (San José del Cabo Centro, frente al estadio de béisbol). Once there, cross the highway and walk on the same direction the bus was coming (with the airport on your back and the stadium at your left ) until you find the gas station PEMEX (left), that will be the begining of Centenario boulevard . Keep going down the street over Centenario, pretty soon you will be able to see the OXXO (a convenience store with a red & yellow sign), get to the Oxxo, that will be the first corner after the highway. Keep going over Centenario wich is the wide bulevard, meters ahead you will pass by veterinaria Chiapa del Sur (a big vet shop on your right), a few more meters ahead on your right you will see a colorful mural on the wall, then the corner where Garage bar and Barrio Burguer are (just as a reference), keep walking over Centenario. The next street is Alvaro Obregón where WE are! You will see a big palapa (palm roof) in the corner go to the right, once you go around there is the mural with the purple whale, find the wood gate and ring the bell, you have now reached Señor Mañana UnHotel.
Shared and Private Shuttles
Taxi fares are typically twice the price traveling from the airport compared to traveling to the airport. This is due to the special licensing fee paid by taxi operators for the privilege of “picking-up” from the airport. However, any taxi can “drop-off”. For this reason, taking a shuttle from the airport and returning by taxi is both convenient and cost effective. (TIP: Whenever using taxis it is a good idea to negotiate the price in advance.)
There are many shuttle providers that offer their services from the SJD airport. The fare will depend on your destination, and whether you are reserving one-way or two-way transportation. It is important to make your reservation at least 48 hours in advance. Following is a partial list of providers for which websites were found. To learn more about the quality and reliability of their services as well as other services, go to the Trip Advisor Forum for San Jose, and in the search box enter the name of the shuttle provider to find the comments of previous customers. You can also search the forum by subject (e.g. “transportation from the airport” or “airport shuttles”)

Uber
As in many countries when Uber or Lyft is introduced, the local taxis and transportation administration has conflicts. Currently, there is Uber in Cabo however, they cannot pick you up at the Los Cabos Airport. If you want to get an Uber from the airport, you’ll need to wheel your luggage and any travel bags to the outer parameters of the airport property, where the car agencies are. If you get an Uber in Los Cabos to drive to the Airport they can only drop you off. Uber is active in Los Cabos, and available throught the city 24/7, is one of the most common way to commute inside the city.
